St. Patrick’s Day – Cue Emerald Hues To Celebrate

The nation will putting up decorations and donning emerald clothes this weekend as we mark St. Patrick’s Day. Synonymous with fun, celebration and Irish luck aplenty, many of us will be marking the day with our own form of celebration.

Across the pond, Chicago famously turns the river that runs through the city bright green – making it a hard-to-miss event. Closer to home we have the annual St Patrick’s Day parade in London taking place on Friday 16 – Sunday 18 March with the parade and stage lineup on Sunday 18 March at 12pm. This year’s festival will celebrate the achievements and success of London’s Irish women, using the hashtag #BehindEveryGreatCity and will go past some of the city’s most famous landmarks.

To mark the occasion, we’ve put together our shortlist of emerald hue items to get into the spirit:

  1. Anne of Green Gables, The Folio Society

A classic in many a home and popular for young budding literature lovers. You can’t go wrong with some classic literature and especially with a cover so pleasing on the eye. Beautifully illustrated, and one to be passed down generations, this book is equally great to read and on display on a coffee table.

  1. Gucci Ladies’ Le Marche Des Merveilles Watch, Watchshop

With a colour-pop dial which is sure to grab the right glances from the fashion pack, this watch certainly ticks the emerald tone box. Details such as the golden bee and delicate branding puts this in the evergreen fashion category as a solid season staple come rain or shine.
