Spoon Guru & Tesco: Healthtech PR campaign
THE CHALLENGE
Our healthtech client, Spoon Guru, was set to make headlines, and we made sure they did. The innovative grocery-tech company was launching a high-profile partnership with Tesco, offering its AI-enabled technology to help Tesco customers with specific dietary preferences, easily find the food they could eat.
It was a significant step forward for Spoon Guru and a strategic healthtech play for Tesco.
OUR APPROACH
We devised and implemented a healthtech PR campaign designed to amplify the announcement and drive widespread media attention. To truly communicate the implications and benefits of this technology first-hand, we started by approaching media who followed specific diets, helping them experience the real-world value of Spoon Guru’s technology before moving on to key opinion leaders in this market.
Our key PR tactics included:
– Announcement planning and media strategy
– B2B grocery influencers, key opinion leaders and journalist targeting – especially those with dietary or health interests
– Thought leadership and founder profiling
– Award entries to position Spoon Guru as a category leader
– Health, food, technology and business media outreach — including TV coverage
RESULTS
Although in a retained partnership with Spoon Guru, we set a clear focus for this campaign – to deliver opinion forming media coverage in outlets that count. With a clear strategy in play, a news story can deliver mainstream visibility in trusted media, and drive real results, even in a highly competitive media environment. Our three-month campaign achieved:
118 pieces of media coverage
43% in Tier One media including BBC News, The Guardian, Sky News, Mail Online, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Grocer, Retail Week, and Retail Times
62% stand-alone features
46% of coverage included backlinks
