Cherish PR 2017 – A PR agency review of the year

20/12/2017

As a London-based PR agency working with brands across the globe,  2017 was the year when we learned that smart technology would soon run the home; when we pitched stories of AI and VR breaking boundaries in entertainment; when we showcased two-tone jewellery and when we rekindled a love of classic literature. From product launches, C-level executive media tours and experiential marketing pop-ups to thought leadership campaigns, industry trends and proactive press office opportunities, we’ve done it all. Here are a few of our personal highlights.

Bright

“My highlight of 2017 is hearing the goals and ambitions that everyone has for their career in 2018 and being so proud of the skills and expertise that we have on the team. The wonderful positivity, passion and commitment that the team have for the business and clients is inspirational. Hearing everyone talk about their goals means that I am absolutely determined that they accomplish them here at Cherish next year.”

Indiegogo in The Metro talking about crowdfunding

“ A special mention for the Indiegogo team who organised two very successful crowdfunding events resulting in new campaigners for Indiegogo.  The Wix team for securing some fantastic coverage this year for Wix Code, Wix SEO Wiz and Wix Video! Finally, for Cherish setting up Run Club and running further and faster with each run!”

Snapshot of the front cover and feature including Sir Quentin Blake for The Folio Society

“For me, the highlight of 2017 has to be securing the front cover and lead feature in The Sunday Telegraph Magazine. We worked with our client The Folio Society, and legendary illustrator Sir Quentin Blake, which resulted in a six-page feature, alongside the cover, which the Editor said was her favourite in all of the time she’s been at The Telegraph Magazine. The area of fine arts, design and illustration is a passion of mine, so securing and working on this opportunity from day one, to print, was a fantastic journey.”

View from the ground at TechDay London – taking in all the sights and sounds

“I joined the Cherish team two-thirds of the way through the year and it is still a challenge to pick just one highlight! I think for me, the highlight has to be attending TechDay London at Old Billingsgate on the river Thames. It gave me the chance to meet and learn about so many interesting and innovative tech start-ups in Europe. Not only has attending TechDay lead to new business for Cherish but I also made some new friends who I know I can call on for advice, tips or knowledge in 2018!”

The future of reading with the Futurebook Conference and Kobo

“As I’m still new to the UK, joining Cherish after completing my internship, 2017 was the year of building my UK media network and establishing relationships. Speaking with magazines you see in newsagents – such as Cosmopolitan, GQ and Tatler – and securing interviews, including The Culture Trip interview with Kobo’s CEO for the Futurebook conference, was a great personal accomplishment for me.”

“Summertime is great, the sun sometimes makes an appearance and you get to jet-off on holiday which is why my highlight of the year has to be the Rakuten Kobo #Beachbookready pop-up on Oxford Street. In July, the team at Cherish orchestrated a two-week experiential marketing social media competition pop-up ‘beach’ on Bird Street – the UK’s first eco-sustainable high-street aimed to utilise wasted space in the capital in partnership with Westminster Council. It was selfie heaven, with inflatable flamingos, tropical vista and palm trees. Executing a pop-up on a world renowned street was certainly a memory I will cherish for the rest of my career!”

Great company, and fantastic food, at the Indiegogo Ultimate Guide event

“I’ve had quite a few highlights at Cherish this year, including coordinating several fantastic events for Indiegogo and Wix, as well as guiding campaigners on how to go about successfully crowdfunding their campaigns. It’s also been great to get genuine appreciation and positive feedback from clients such as Laundrapp after securing coverage in key national, regional and business publications in the UK.”

“Working at Cherish has been pretty amazing. I’ve had a lot of firsts, and hopefully will continue to do so! I’ve especially loved helping out on my first press showcase, and winning my first pieces of coverage in notable publications.”

Getting into the festive spirit in July (!) with the Watchshop.com showcase

“My highlight from this year was the AW17 product showcase for WatchShop.com. This in an annual event that Cherish organises and hosts, and 2017 was bigger and better than ever! We held it in a new venue to accommodate more product displays, brought in a professional jewellery stylist to bring the collections to life, and had a record numbers of attendees. Needless to say it was a huge success and the client was very happy. “

We have had a wonderful year, and feel very privileged working with our lovely clients, journalists and bloggers – a big thank you to everyone who we have worked with this year. From 22nd December we’ll be off to tuck into a few mince pies and enjoy a well-earned rest until 2nd January 2018. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
