London Tech Week Preview – A look ahead at the biggest tech trends and events09/06/2017
Launched in 2014, London Tech Week’s (12th – 16th June) celebration of the best in tech is just around the corner. As well as providing business and networking opportunities for the industry, the festival also showcases the latest in tech trends and innovations.
Below are a few hotly anticipated events that we can’t wait to attend:
AI & Drones
Drone Racing League Season Finale: The Allianz 2017 World Championship Race will be the UK’s first professional drone race and will take place at the iconic Alexandra Palace. The race will feature eight of the top drone pilots from around the globe competing for the title of “World’s Greatest” on a one-of-a-kind course throughout the entire building.
Rise of the Robots, organised by Worldpay: Daren Pickering from Worldpay’s Technology Innovation team will talk about the impact robots are having on fintech and commerce and how AI is shaping our future.
VR was always going to play a large part in this year’s celebration. Wargaming.net has recently announced their partnership with Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust and others to create a virtual reality experience called Virtually Inside HMS Cavalier starting on the 12th of June. This event includes guest speakers, Dan Snow, historian and TV presenter and Richard Cutland, Wargaming military adviser.
Wargaming.net has created an exploration of the last of the British Royal Navy C-class WWII destroyers in order to “bring naval heritage alive for global audiences” – Not to be missed!
